Coronary heart disease is a preventable disease that kills more than 110,000 people in England every year. More than 1.4 million people suffer from angina and 275,000 people have a heart attack annually. It affects more lives in the UK, both men and women, than any other illness.
The North Central London CardioVascular Network has set up a number of task groups to take forward work in response to identified local and national priorities.
For 2011/12 the following task groups are undertaking work to reduce the risk of developing heart disease and/or improve services for heart patients in North Central London:
- NHS Health Checks and cardiovascular prevention
- Arrhythmia
- Heart Failure
- Revasculararisation
- Cardiac Rehabilitation
