Taking a pathway approach to commissioning stroke services in North Central London
The Network has established a working group formed from the 5 North Central London PCTs of Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, Camden and Islington in order to collaborate for the effective commissioning of stroke services, where appropriate.
This enables the Network to take a co-ordinated and whole-system approach to commissioning acute and post-acute stroke services across North Central London.
Additionally, reccomendations generated by the Network's other task groups can be easily passed through to commissioners strengthening the clinical and service user led changes in commissioning of these services.
Collaborating with both acute and community care commissioners in this way has led to some significant changes in the availbility of services for stroke patients in North Central London. The Network has also been able to monitor stroke services and support the commissioning groups to benchmark these services against national and regional priorities.
Membership includes;
- Head of Market Management, NHS North Central London (Chair)

- Lead Commissioner for NCL Commissioning Agency
